Hatchet

The book titled Hatchet by: Gary Paulsen is a realistic fiction about survival. A thirteen year old boy is on his way to see his father when his plane crashes and he is left with nothing except a hatchet that his mother gave him before he left. Throughout the story the boy learns how to survive in wild for almost a month and a half. I would recommend this book for children ages 12 and up because it is one of those books that you can not put down because you want to know what happens next.

Gary Paulsen is an excellent author. When you get a chance find out more about his life, as it is quite interesting.

I remember reading this book hen I was younger and I loved it! I thought it was crazy and so interesting how this kid survived by himself. I don't remember a lot of details but I just remember I really liked it!
